Imphal, April 08 2022:
CPI Manipur State Council has joined the month-long nationwide protest of CPI against price rise of petrol, diesei and LPG as well as other essential commodities by organising a sit-in protest at Irawat Bhawan here on Friday.
Interacting with the media at the protest site, CPI national executive member Dr Moirangthem Nara expressed concern that people are seeing politics as one of the most profitable businesses.
As a result, rampant mismanagement in administration could be seen instead of working for public welfare, delivery of justice and bringing meaningful development.
The way the country is experiencing sudden price hike in petroleum product in the last few days is heavily related with the recent assembly elections in five states including Manipur.
Public already knew that they will see significant price jump in all commodities after the election, he claimed.
Further stating that it is obvious for the government to do whatever it like since it is a government financed by corporate houses, Dr Nara pointed out that apart from the price rise, the commoners are facing many other issues.
In such a situation, it is the public voice that could shake the government and take measures to provide some relief to the price rise, he said, white charging the BJP government of robbing the public with its corporate friendly economic policy.
