Loumi Lup connnemorates UP incident as Dark Day

Manipur Loumi Lup on Monday observed Dark Day commemorating the Lakh impur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh incident of October 3, 2021 in which MoS Home Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra bulldozed a group of protesting fanners and killed four people including one journalist.
CPI Manipur State Council secretary L Thoiren, former state secretary L Sotinkumar, Manipur Loumi Lup president N Singhajit, vice-president U Rajmohon and CPI-M state secretary Ksh Shanta attended the observance held at Irawat Bhawan as presidium members.
A statement of Manipur Loumi Lup informed that the day is observed as Dark Day across the country.
Farmer bodies across the country are demanding the central government to implement National Commission on Farmers' report, the statement said while demanding the government to save Loktak, decommission Ithai Barrage, pay compensation to farmers affected by Loktak Project, enhance daily wages to Rs 600, increase mandays under MGNREGS to 200, activate non-functioning dams, projects, RLIs and irrigation canals, withdraw electricity bill 2022, stop privatisation, public consultation on policies related with farmers and agriculture, legalise MSP, resignation of union minister Ajay Mishra and monthly pension of Rs 10,000 to people above the age of 60 years.
