Reserved forest surveyed

Imphal, June 20 2022:
Under the aegis of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and HoFF, Dr A K Joshi, and in continuation of the state government's effort to consolidate the forest areas of the state, a joint survey was conducted at Kanglatongbi-Kangpokpi Reserved Forest under Kangpokpi district on Monday.
The Kangpokpi-Kanglatongbi range was declared a Reserved Forest on July 3, 1968 in exercise of the power conferred under section 20 of Indian Forest Act, 1927 and published in the Gazette Notification on July 12, 1968 covering an area of 33 Sq miles.
Areas falling under the Reserved Forest and the bordering villages were surveyed to reaffirm and demarcate the boundary of the Reserved Forest.
The exercise will continue till June 30.Meanwhile, the Divisional Forest Officer, Kangpokpi Forest Division has urged Village Chiefs and CSOs to cooperate with the officials during the exercise.
