Imphal, June 20 2022:
Ahead of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) has launched a week-long street corner meeting and poster campaign from Monday.
The campaign was flagged off from Kangla Western gate.
The street corner meeting and poster campaign will be carried out in several areas of Imphal East on Monday and continue in Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching and Jiribam districts.
Speaking at the flag-off programme, CADA vice president Ningthoujam Doren informed that since its inception, CADA has been observing the International Day Against Drug and Illicit Trafficking every year.
While noting that the menace of drug and addictive substances in the state is alarming, he cautioned that future of the state is unpredictable as drug and other addictive substances have been engulfing the youth who are the future pillars of the nation.
Stressing on the need to work together against trafficking and selling of drugs and addictive substances, Doren appealed to the people for jointly fighting against drug menace rather than entrusting the responsibility solely to the government so as to save the land from the grip of drugs.
