Survey conducted at Kanglatongbi Kangpokpi Reserved Forest

Kangpokpi, June 20 2022:
In continuation of the State Government's effort to consolidate the forest areas of the state, a joint survey was conducted at Kanglatongbi-Kangpokpi Reserved Forest, Kangpoki district under the supervision of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & HoFF, Dr A K Joshi.
The Kangpokpi-Reserved Forest was declared a Reserved Forest on July 3, 1968 in exercise of the power conferred under Section 20 of Indian Forest Act, 1927 and published in the Gazette Notification dated Imphal, Friday, July 12, 1968 covering an area of 33 Sq miles.
Areas falling under the Reserved Forest and the bordering villages were surveyed to reaffirm and demarcate the boundary of the Reserved Forest.
The exercise will continue till June 30, 2022 .
The Divisional Forest Officer, Kangpokpi Forest Division has appealed to the village chiefs and CSOs to cooperate with the officials during the exercise.
