44 AR renovates Govt High School, Akhui

To mitigate the problems faced by students and staff, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) undertook repainting and renovation work of.Government High School at Akhui village in Tamenglong district as part of 'Jan Bagidhari' campaign under 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' .
According to an AR statement, the revamped school was inaugurated by 44 Assam Rifles commandant on Monday and handed over to school authorities in the presence of the village authorities and villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, the commandant conveyed that the Battalion aims to contribute towards "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan" by creating conducive environment to provide useful and relevant, elementary education to all children.
He hoped that the renovation would reduce the school dropout rate and increase the footfall in the school.
He also opined that the newly placed posters, cutouts and quotes of world's famous individuals would inspire and motivate students to attend and actively participate in the school's daily activities.
The Commandant also conveyed that the ultimate aim of the efforts undertaken by the Battalion is to mould the budding talents of Akhui village into a capable and efficient generation of bright minds.
True to its motto come to learn and go to serve, the school would be able to mould these future civilised citizens, he maintained.
The locals thanked the Battalion for their continuous good work in the uplift of the village.
As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Battalion in collaboration with locals has renovated eleven different government school buildings so far.
With better and improved teaching learning space the Battalion aims at improving the education standards in far flung areas of the Tamenglong and Kangpokpi districts, the release added.
