CS, DGP monitor supply of essential items

Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu and Director General of Police LM Khaute yesterday visited Jiribam district to monitor the administrative work taken up there to prevent spread of coronavirus and supply of essential items to the people of the district.
PDS rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) for the month of April were lifted from various FCI godowns located at different areas of the State.
PDS rice is lifted for distribution to the beneficiaries of the State to ensure uninterrupted supply of food grains during the ongoing lockdown which has been clamped since March 25 to contain COVID-19.In Imphal West district, a total of 2854.65 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted yesterday.
It included 77.35 quintal for Thangmeiband A/C, 142.65 quintal for Singjamei A/C, 2157.3 quintal for Wangoi A/C and 477.36 quintal for Langthabal A/C.Another 200 quintal of rice under OMSS was also lifted in the district.
The district also reported lifting of rice under PMGKAY on April 21 for Sagolband A/C (375.53 quintal), Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C (2779.3 quintal) and 474.12 quintal for Langthabal A/C.In Imphal East, 716.80 quintal of rice under OMSS was lifted for distribution to the beneficiaries of Kshetrigao A/C.The rice was procured from MLA Local Area Development Fund.
In Bishnupur district too, 1752.40 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 479.40 quintal under OMSS were lifted for Nambol A/C.Pherzawl District reported lifting of 561 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 205.5 quintal under OMSS for Tipaimukh A/C.Churachandpur district also reported lifting of 912.95 quintal of rice under PMGKAY for its Henglep A/C.There was also report of lifting of 16.65 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 645.78 quintal under OMSS meant for Jiribam A/C from FCI godown, Jiribam.
In Kamjong district, 687.05 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted for Phungyar A/C yesterday.
Lifting of 571.75 quintal under the same scheme was also done for the Assembly segment on April 21.In Senapati district, 1278 quintal and 3683.95 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted for Mao A/C and Tadubi A/C respectively.
There was also lifting of rice under OMSS for non-NFSA category at the rate of 420.63 quintal for Mao A/C and 961.35 quintal for Tadubi A/C.For Khangabok A/C in Thoubal District, 2234 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 562 quintal under OMSS were lifted yesterday.
1087.55 quintal of rice was also lifted from Tangjeng FCI Godown located at Thoubal.
There was lifting of 1087.55 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and OMSS for Machi Block of Tengnoupal district too from Tangjeng FCI godown.
Apart from lifting, distribution of rice under PMGKAY and OMSS was carried in some districts of the State.
Imphal West District reported distribution of rice consisting of 3215.25 quintal under PMGKAY covering 15587 households and 81 quintal under OMSS covering 805 households.
In Heirok A/C of Thoubal district, 1902.70 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 582.20 quintal under OMSS were distributed to the beneficiaries of the Assembly segment.
Beneficiaries of Wangjing-Tentha A/C in the district were also distributed 413.85 quintal of rice under OMSS.
Apart from this, 12 quintal of rice under OMSS was distributed to PLHIV's and stranded labourers at Khangabok.
