Highest attention will be given to Mao screening centre and checkpoint: Nemcha

Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen, also the in-charge Minister of Kangpokpi and Senapati districts visited Mao today to access the situation, various measures and activities taken up in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Minister seriously took hold of various important issues at Mao screening centre and assured to address it at the earliest by instructing the concerned authority to look into the matters.
The visiting Minister instructed the Health Department and DC Senapati to construct a proper screening centre.
She assured that the construction will be completed within a week.
During the visit, Nemcha Kipgen also handed over medical kits including thermal scanner, masks, etc.
to the doctors, nurses and police personnel deployed at the screening centre.
The Minister in-charge also visited Mao police check post and quarantine centre at JNV Mao and took stock of the present situation.
She also interacted with the quarantine persons at JNV Mao quarantine centre and appreciated them for their cooperation to help the Government fight the deadly pandemic virus successfully.
She assured that the matters will be put up to the Chief Minister and that the highest attention will be given to Mao screening centre and checkpoint.
The Minister further stated that concerted efforts are required from all spheres to save Manipur from the highly contagious pandemic COVID-19.During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by M Harekrishna, Nodal Officer of Kangpokpi and Senapati, Dr L Arke, Additional Director Public Health, Dr Y Premchandra Singh , Deputy Director Public Health, Dr L Somorendro, DD and Dr O Romesh, SMO who are in charge of quarantine and surveillance team of the State COVID Cell, apart from DC Senapati, SP Senapati and CMO Senapati.
The Minister was later joined by Outer Manipur MP, Dr S Lorho at Mao screening centre.
