Imphal, October 21 2013:
Speaking to media persons by the sidelines of the swearing in ceremony of Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra as a Judge of Manipur High Court at Raj Bhawan today, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that there will be no compromise on the territorial integrity of the State.
It is in line with this that an all political party delegates led by Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam are scheduled to leave for Moreh tomorrow and inspect the ongoing border fencing taken up along a stretch of 10 kms, he said.
If Manipur is to lose even an inch of her land due to the border fencing then the matter would be put up to the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister and External Affairs Minister, said the Chief Minister.
On the 'visa on arrival' required on free movement between the people of Manipur and Myanmar's Mandalay, Ibobi said he has already urged the concerned authorities in New Delhi to set up two visa offices in the state-one at Imphal Tulihal Airport and another at commercial hub Moreh.
"I'm expecting these visa offices soon," he said.
He also assured a passport office in Imphal to redress the hurdles encountered by the public while seeking it in Guwahati.
