Hectic preparation on for Zomi convention

As the days for the 3rd Zomi World Convention at Lamka from October 25 to 27 draw nearer, the organising committee and its various sub-committees are actively engaged in performing their respective assigned duties.
As of now, 80 percent of the arrangements have been completed, and as part of the preparedness for the event, information and media centres have been opened and places to host the guests who would be coming to participate in the event arranged.
The Zomi Youth Association, General Headquarters, which had been entrusted to arrange the hall for holding the convention is taking up its assigned duty on a war footing in their attempt to construct an appropriate stage with a hall including heritage building centre where various ZO traditional shawls, ZO foods and tools used by their ancestors like Spinning wheels, looms, pestle (Suk), Hinge (Khindang), Courtyard (Sumtawng), Guardspoon (Umkeu), Bamboo spoon, Hearth (Taptung), etc will be on display for public viewing.
On the other hand, since Christians values and traditions are to be abided by during the convention that aims to foster the bond of unity among Zo folks, Dry Week has been announced from October 21 to 27 in and around Zo inhabited areas.
Furthermore, the transport department has arranged how the traffic would be regulated in the town during the convention, while the worship department, after having held a rehearsal, has finalised the place where the Speakers would be lodged.
Speaking at the inauguration of Media Centre, Rev Rose Infimate complimented Zomi Council for organising the convention with great desire to usher in peace and harmony and said that he would always prayed to God for the success of the 3rd World Zomi Convention.
