Landslide strands tankers on NH-37

A large number of tankers and goods laden trucks bound for Imphal from Jiribam have been stranded along NH-37 following a landslide at Langkhong near Noney today evening.
According to police report, the landslide occurred following the down pour today evening with the road cutting exercise for laying the rail track compounding matters.
BRTF have rushed their machinery to the spot to clear the landslide and according to reports coming in from the spot, three excavators have been put into service to clear the landslide and make way for the goods laden trucks.
Fuel position : Rationing of fuel will continue as the stock position in the IOC depot as well as those yet to be unloaded from the tankers continue to be low.
As the per the latest stock position issued by the CAF and PD, the stock of petrol has been pegged at 668 Kl, which is enough for only nine days given the daily requirement of petrol at 70 Kl.
The stock position of diesel or HSD is equally dismal as the stock position has been put at 1761 Kl which is set to last 8 days.
The daily requirement of HSD is 200 Kl.
The stock position of SKO has been put at 1434 which has been pegged to last for 17 days.
The daily requirement of kerosene is 80 Kl.
LPG continues to be in a grim position as the stock available at the Sekmai gas bottling plant is only 148 MT.
This may last for one day, as per the calculations given by the CAF and PD.
The ATF stock is relatively healthy with a stock of 16.3 Kl calculated to last for 15 days.
