SHADC hands over ALS ambulance to CMO

Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SHADC), Kangpokpi on Wednesday handed over another Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance to the chief medical officer (CMO) Kangpokpi as a part of its tireless efforts in helping the Health Department fight the dreaded Covid-19 in Kangpokpi district.
With Wednesday's ambulance, SHADC Kangpokpi has already provided four ambulances for temporary utilisation in Covid-19 related matters to the Health Department.
The ambulance was presented to CMO Kangpokpi Dr J Touthang by SHADC caretaker chairman Haokholal Hangshing in the presence of SHADC chief executive officer James Doujapao Haokip former vice chairman and other former members and medical officials.
Speaking on the sideline of the ceremony, caretaker chairman Haokholal informed that as part of their initiative to combat the pandemic in the district, they are providing another ambulance equipped with ALS.
He instructed the CMO to ensure that the ambulances are used accordingly for Covid-19 related matters only, while appealing to the people of Kangpokpi to understand the importance of ambulances and render maximum cooperation and support to the ambulance drivers and patients inside the ambulance in case of any trouble faced by them anywhere.
The caretaker chairman also urged authorities concerned to work sincerely and dedicatedly for the welfare of the people during this critical time.
Meanwhile, SHADC Kangpokpi CEO James Doujapao Haokip said that the ambulance was procured by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Hills Department under the 15th Finance Commission of the ADCs and distributed to it.
He also said that another two ambulances with built-in Basic Life Support and auto stretcher foldable legs procured under the same ministry were also handed over to the Health Department earlier after one ambulance of SHADC Kangpokpi was handed over at the time of the first wave of the pandemic.
