Distribution of COVID-19 relief materials and donation to the needy people is humanitarian services, not a platform for promote oneself to gain political gains, said Ex-MLA, Dr Khashim Ruivah while attending a 'COVID-19 Mass Vaccination & One Day Political Awareness Programme' .
A team of BJP Medical Cell led by Dr Khashim Ruivah today visited western & Sagolmang area villages of Ukhrul district and carried out 'COVID-19 Mass Vaccination & One Day Political Awareness Programme' to enlighten the villagers and clear their doubts regarding the Covid vaccine.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Khashim urged the people to vaccinate themselves in time in order to prevent the outbreak of Covid-19 third wave and restore normalcy at the earliest.
He said that timely vaccination is the only way to save ourselves from the infectious and deadly coronavirus.
Dr Khashim also cautioned the villagers not to get easily enticed by the words of politicians or social leaders who are looking for political gains in the name of relief distribution during this hard time of Covid-19 pandemic.
The dedicated Ambulance donated to Somdal CHC was purchased from the MLAD fund with the approval of the State Cabinet and the free rations distributed under PMGKAY were all provided by the State Government, he asserted.
Dr Khashim urged the people to not believe in the propaganda while adding that the assistance was all provided by the State Government through the respective MLAs.
Meanwhile, Dr Kala, convener BJP Medical Cell Manipur, also enlightened the people about the fast spreading nature of COVID-19 and the mutated Delta variants, which is more infectious and dangerous.
He also urged them to provide their support to the Government in the fight against the pandemic and not to fall into misleading claims shared about Covid vaccine.
The awareness campaign began from Ringui, Phalee, Somdal and ended at Sagolmang area village of Ukhrul.
It was attended by Headmen, chairmen, VAs, Church leaders, women & youth leaders.
