Seven test positive in Ukhrul village

Ukhrul, July 07 2021:
A residential house in Phalee village has been sealed after seven persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the village on Wednesday.
According to a District Surveillance Office (DSO) report, eight samples were collected during a screening conducted in the village and out of which, seven returned positive for the contagion.
With this, the total active cases in the district reached 54, even as four patients were discharged on Wednesday.
The district magistrate has subsequently ordered containment measures and sealed one residential house belonging to A Ngaranshang in the village.
Meanwhile, a total of 13 samples returned negative during a separate screening at Ukhrul town hall, Phungreitang on the same day, the report said.
Earlier, on July 5, the entire habitation area of Peh village was declared containment zone after four persons tested positive for the disease.
Presently, the district's cumulative positive cases stand at 740, of which 440 are male and 300 female.
Of the 54 active cases, 30 patients are being lodged at Transit CCC, 13 at UDH Isolation Ward, five at Phalee Community Isolation Ward, and three each at UHSS CIC and Jessami CIC.
The district has registered 22 deaths in the second wave of the pandemic, including those referred out of the district hospital.
So far, the district has referred out 21 patients.
Meanwhile, Kamjong district has reported a positive case Wednesday from 23 samples collected the test.
According to an official source, the district's active cases stand at 16, while its cumulative positive cases tally is 458 .
