CM kick-starts distribution of dry ration kits in Ccpur

Distribution of dry ration kits sponsored by Crypto Relief India for 3,000 beneficiaries of Churachandpur district began Wednesday at Peace Ground, Tuibuong.
Chief minister N Biren Singh kicked off distribution of dry ration kits in the presence of TA & Hills minister Vungzagin Valte at 10am via video conference.
Speaking on the occasion, N Biren expressed that as a human being, extending help and serving the poor and needy people is the greatest service of all.
The CM said that the objective of the government is to uplift the lives of the people and as such introduced various people-centric welfare schemes such as CMHT, CMST, etc.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central government has implemented various schemes for the poor and needy people of the country, he said and pointed out that PM Modi has successfully launched world's largest free COVID-19 vaccination for all.
The Chief Minister also informed that the State Cabinet has decided to extend monetary support to those families affected by the pandemic.
A sum of Rs 5000 would be given to around 2 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme, he added.
In his address, Vungzagin Valte urged the auto drivers to get vaccinated as soon as possible as they are dealing with the general public by ferrying passengers.
He also said a meeting will be convened regarding mass vaccination drives for the auto drivers of the district soon.
The function was also attended by Principal Secretary (health) V Vumlunmang, Churachandpur DC Pawan Yadav and others.
Crypto Relief India, a community of founders and innovators, has donated 2500 dry ration kits via Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) under Umeed Project and 500 dry ration kits via Sunbird Trust for Churachandpur district.
These kits would be distributed to the targeted section of the society in partnership with Highland Group, KSO Songpi, HYA GHQ, AWCA, Khawlmun Youth Club and different village authorities.
Kick-starting the distribution of the 3000 dry ration kits, 700 ration kits were provided to auto drivers who have been badly affected by successive lockdowns because of Covid-19 pandemic.
All Churachandpur District Diesel Auto Owners' Association (ACDDAOA) was invited to select its most needy members for the same and Wednesday's event saw more than 500 auto drivers converging at the site with their respective autos to collect the ration kits.
This will be followed by distribution of dry ration kits to other groups like rickshaw pullers, destitute homes, vegetable vendors and daily wage earners at different places and time across the district.
Meanwhile, the Food and Beverage Division of ITC donated five boxes of Dark Fantasy Bourbon Biscuit to the Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) through Catalyst 2030.These boxes of biscuits were in turn handed over to Sangga Muon Inn director Lhing.
Sangga Muon Inn is an orphanage located at Bijang, Tuibuang in Churachandpur and it currently shelters 38 orphans.
