Imphal, July 07 2021:
Imphal West District VDF Welfare Association extended help to 14 VDF personnel who have been hit worst by CO VID-19 pandemic in a simple program held at the community hall in Pishumthong today under the aegis of Dr S Ibomcha Singh, MPS and SP of Imphal West.
The association in a press release, said that the 14 VDF personnel have been kept under 'Rejected' status by an order issued by the Government since August 2018 due to lack of some documents when processed through Computerisation Personal Information Systems (CPIS) and their monthly honorariums have been kept on hold for 3 years though they have been assigned their normal duties.
They have also filled up and submitted the necessary documents but no concrete measures have been taken up till date.
Considering the plights of the VDF personnel concerned amid the difficult time of COVID-19, the Association handed over essential items consisting of 50kgs of rice each, edible oils, potatoes, pulses and salt to the 14 VDF personnel from the fund of Imphal West District VDF Welfare Assn.
The Association urged the authorities concerned to look into the matter of the said VDF personnel and let them return to normal duty at the earliest, failing which the Association is set to take the matter legally.
