A blessing prayer for Khaibiaklian and declaration of his intention to contest the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from 60-Singngat assembly constituency was held at Muvanlai playground on Wednesday.
The event was attended by his well-wishers and maternal relatives, and one of his grandparents administered a blessing prayer.
As many as 23 heads of family relatives besides others also attended the programme.
During his speech, Khaibiaklian declared his intention to contest the upcoming election and stressed that empowerment and capability enhancement are critical for all-round development of all residents of the area.
The area has witnessed tremendous improvement in road connectivity which can open up various opportunities for the people.
And at the same time, the local people need empowerment to be able to avail the opportunities, Khaibiak said, adding that his main focus is to achieve that goal by becoming an MLA.
The intending candidate revealed that he has already visited more than 30 villages and conie to know of the problems faced by the people, explaining that when you improve your ability and capability, skill development will take place and one can use his or her skills for doubling income.
Mere construction of a PHSC/PHC building or community hall will not improve the situation but the civic sense of eagerness to maintain the facilities with educational empowerment will improve the situation, he added.
Khaibiaklian also mentioned the recent development regarding the nomination of some MLAs to HAC was the result of ignorance, adding that if there is no empowerment people will be deprived of theirrights and remain oppressed.
