Poll meeting of Charenamei stopped at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, March 28, 2014:
The district magistrate of Tamenglong on Friday interrupted an election meeting of Mani Charenamei, an Independent Candidate of the upcoming 16th Lok Sabha Election for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
The meeting was organised by Concerned People's Forum Tamenglong at Indoor Stadium Tamenglong district HQs.
But it was stopped by the district magistrate for not taking the required permission.
Mani Charenamei was delivering his speech to the mammoth gathering when the order of the district magistrate came.
Even though the Forum produced the booking counter slip from the chowkidar of the Indoor Stadium Tamenglong, the election meeting was stopped at midway.
Accordingly, the remaining part of the meeting resumed at the residence of one ID Akubou at Chingkhiulong Tamenglong Ward No.V and ended peacefully.
After a mass prayer, Mani Charenamei and his entourage left for Tamei for to continue his election campaign.
Before the interruption of the meeting at the Indoor Stadium midway while Mani Charenamei was speaking, his workers from Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Senapati and Chandel district spoke, expressing hope that Mani Charenamei would emerge victorious in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
On his part, Mani Charenamei assured that he would set up a central school in Tamenglong with the same standard like those in Delhi, if he comes to power.
He also assured that he would bring other banks like SBI to Tamenglong for providing loan to student and job seekers.
"If I come to power I will work for the development of language and set up an FM Radio Station in Tamenglong," Mani further assured.
Explaining why he is contesting the election as an Independent candidate, Mani said that only an independent candidate can build up a common platform for all tribals and Nagas of Manipur.
