Bodies demand immediate arrest of rape accused

Denouncing the alleged police failure to arrest an accused in the rape of 13 year-old student on Feb 18 this year, the All Manipur Muslim Girl Students' Union, AMSU Thoubal district committee and JAC in connection with the rape have today warned of launching intense agitation if the authority concerned fails to arrest the rape accused, Md Muhi at the earliest.
Speaking to reporters today at Manipur Press Club, Ruster Choudhury, president of AMMGSU said that no action has been taken up against the rape accused Md Muhi by the police even as a written complain was submitted to the Thoubal police in connection with the rape case of 13 years old girl student.
Ruster said that a memorandum was also submitted to the DC of Thoubal in this regard.
However, nothing has been done to bring justice in the case, AMMGSU, AMSU Thoubal district and the JAC rued.
They also said that a memorandum in this regard would be submitted to the CM, Dy CM, Social Welfare Minister and Education Minister to demand justice.
