1.49 kg WY tablets, 144 gm heroin recovered

Kakching, October 21 2021:
A team of Kakching Commando Unit led by HC Kunjakishwor Singh on Thursday recovered 1.49 kg of WY tablets and 144 gm of heroih from two drug smugglers arrested from Sora Ching Wangma.
The two arrested drug smugglers have been identified as Md Aktar (26), son of Late Md Abdul Haque and Md Samir (19), son of Md Abdul Gaffar.
Both of them are residents of Moreh Ward No 2, Tengnoupal district.
According to police reports, a team of Kakching Commando Unit during checking and frisking operation at Sora Ching Wangma stopped a passenger van coming from Sora Bazar and heading towards Imphal around 1:20 pm on Thursday in which the two accused were travelling.
The team on checking their belongings recovered 11 soap cases containing suspected heroin weighing approximately 144 gm and one packet of suspected WY tablets weighing 1.49 kg hidden in a green bucket marked as MTC power AP-3 Grease.
On questioning, Md Aktar disclosed that he procured the contraband items from one Khuman of Moreh Ward No 2 Labuk Leikai and it had to be handed over to one person at Lilong.
Both the arrested drug smugglers and the recovered contraband items were handed over to Kakching police station for taking up further legal action.
