One fatality, 81 new positive cases reported

As the state is witnessing significant reduction in the daily positivity rate during the current month, Thursday reported one new fatality and 81 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1762 samples tested, thus, registering a positivity rate of 4.60 per cent against Wednesday's 3.41 per cent.
Out of the 16 districts, 11 reported Covid cases on Thursday with Imphal West seeing highest count at 42 .
In terms of daily infection, Tengnoupal recorded highest single day positivity rate at 14.3 per cent by reporting 1 new case out of 7 samples tested while Sena pati district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.7 per cent.
Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl and Tamenglong districts did not report any new positive cases on Tuesday.
The active caseload came down to 1346 on Thursday out of which 135 (10.03 per cent) are in home isolation, 575 (42.72 per cent) in CHICs, 349 (25.93 per cent) in CCCs and 287 (21.32 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 71 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 44 are on oxygen support and 19 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 136 patients.
On the other hand, there are five patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability but as of Wednesday evening, 596 beds including 107 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals, 2843 beds in different Covid Care Centres and 416 beds (28 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 93,651 positive cases and 1531 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has recorded 2467 new cases and 50 fatalities out of which 619 new cases and 16 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 81 new positive cases (45 male & 36 female) are from among the general population and their samples were detected at RIMS (8), JNIMS (18) and other testing centres (55) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (14), Imphal West (42), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (4), Ukhrul (11), Chandel (l), Churachandpur (1), Senapati (1), Kamjong (1) and Tengnoupal (1) .
The lone fatality reported on Thursday was from Imphal East and he was not vaccinated.
His death took the cumulative number of deaths from Covid-19 in the state to 1905 .
In the last 24 hours, 94 patients were discharged from home isolation (35), RIMS (2), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (52) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,23,051 (general population - 1,18,728 and CAPF personnel - 4,323) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,19,800 (generalpopulation - 1,15,507 and CAPF personnel - 4,293) and number of active cases is 1,346 (general population - 1,321 and CAPF personnel - 25) .
The recovery rate is 97.36 per cent.
On Wednesday, 861 D-type and 151 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Meanwhile, only 5,764 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,38,675 which include 6,16,041 fully vaccinated people.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,782), Imphal East (27,202), Thoubal (9426), Churachandpur (10,113), Kangpokpi (2774), Tamenglong (3272), Bishnupur (9132), Senapati (2222), Ukhrul (2910), Kakching (6383), Chandel (2315), Noney (1067), Tengnoupal (1054)', Jiribam (1021), Kamjong (914) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (633), Imphal East (453), Thoubal (173), Churachandpur (160), Kangpokpi (60), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (189), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (139), Kakching (111), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,655 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,427 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,34,864 tests per million population against the national average of 4,26,248 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1762 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 4.60 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.12 per cent.
