78th Arzi-Hukumat-E-Azad Hind Day observed

Department of Art and Culture observed the 78th Arzi Hukumat-E-Azad Hind Day which marks the day of formation of Provisional Government of Free India by the Indian National Army under Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, at INA Memorial auditorium, Moirang on Thursday.
The function was attended by Art and Culture commissioner M Joy Singh as chief guest, director Ng Uttam Singh as president and information & public relations director H Balkrishna Singh as guest of honour.
Bike rally, floral tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, traditional dance performances from Manipur University of Culture as well as songs performance from Sangeet Milan Artist Association, Moirang marked the observance.
Speaking on the occasion, M Joy recalled the supreme sacrifices made by Subhas Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army for India's freedom.
On this day in 1943, the Azad Hind Fauj formed the provisional Government of Free India with the support of Japanese Empire to oust the British from Indian soil, he stated.
Emphasising on the historical significance of INA memorial, M Joy informed that a modernised INA memorial is in the offing.
He stated that the state government under Tourism Department is considering reconstruction of INA memorial in the near future which will be a level up from the existing memorial.
Department of Art and Culture also submitted a proposal for modernisation of the complex, he added.
Members of INA Yatra North East Circle, ICDS supervisors, Anganwadi workers among others participated in the observance.
Meanwhile, Kha Manipur Yoga and Nature Cure Association Kakching and Lions Club of Kakching Greater under the aegis of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Smrity Raksha Committee, Kolkata on Ihursday observed the 78th Freedom of Undivided India to commemorate the formation of provisional Government of India at Singapore on October 21, 1943.The programme held at Kha Manipur Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital Campus at Machin Manao Chinglak Kakching was marked by hoisting of tricolour flag of India by Kha Manipur Yoga and Nature Cure Association Kakching secretary and Lions Club of Kakching Greater president Dr Mayanglambam Rajkumar.
The function was also attended by Lions Club of Kakching immediate past president Naorem Munal Meitei, secretary Moirangthem Magho, treasurer Uttamkumar Naorem among others.
