UNLF claims responsibility for 2 bomb blasts

The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has claimed the responsibility of bomb blast at the residence of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Chandel District, Dr Seram Ibomcha on October 31 last at around 3.30 am.
A press release issued by the outfit said that Dr Ibomcha married one Ningthoujam ningol Seram (o) Tombi, who works as a nurse, of Kwatha village in Chandel District as his third wife in March 30, 2014.But when Dr Ibomcha returned to Imphal, he started neglecting Tombi and refused to accept her as his wife.
After repeated requests to Dr Ibomcha, Tombi at last took the matter to one Civil Society Organisation and in November 28, 2014 an agreement was reached between the SCO, Dr Ibomcha and his wife Tombi.
After the issue became public, UNLF took up the case and started investigation as a part of its activities to safeguard the women from any kind of discrimination in the society, said the release.
Dr Ibomcha was asked many times to apologise for the mistakes he had committed to the villagers of Kwatha and Mrs Tombi and defied Party's call.
The Party exploded the bomb as last warning before giving punitive action against Dr Ibomcha, said the release and warned Dr Ibomcha to surrender to UNLF before November 24 .
Meanwhile, the outfit has also claimed responsibility for the bomb blast at Sky Cold Caf� of Iroishemba Maning Leikai on Sunday at around 3.30 pm.
Another press release issued by the outfit said that the act was a part of the party's undergoing activities against the enemies of the society and a warning to stop sexual exploitation of women in various restaurants and caf�s. UNLF said that the party's activities against star hotels, restaurants and caf�, spreading of nude photos, pictures and video clippings through mobile phones and social media networks will be more stringent since these have become the main areas for making woman easy targets for sexual exploitation.
Today, sexual exploitation of women have become the regular headlines of print and electronic media in the society, said the release and added that differently abled minor girls are not even spared from the exploitation.
