Three legal literacy clubs inaugurated in Senapati

With a vision of NALSAto create legal awareness, inculcate culture of obedience to law and spread the philosophy of rule of law amongst the younger generations, three Legal Literacy Clubs were inaugurated today in Senapati district.
Legal Literacy Clubs were inaugurated at Mt Everest Higher Secondary School, Brook Dale Higher Secondary School and Mt Zion Senior Secondary School.
The inaugural function of the legal literacy club at Mt Everest Higher Secondary School was held at Mt Everest School and College Auditorium in the presence of the President of Senapati District Bar Association, Advocate members of the DLSA and teachers and students of the school.
While inaugurating the legal literacy club at Mt Everest Higher Secondary School, A Nautuneshwari Devi, District and Session Judge, Senapati who is also the Chairperson of District Legal Services Authority, Senapati said that it is a must for every citizen to know their rights and legal laws.
"There should be no discrimination based on tribes, castes or creed and all are equal in the eyes of law," she said.
Similar programmes were held at Brook Dale Higher Secondary School and Mt Zion Senior Secondary School.
Meanwhile, a one day legal awareness program was held at the Department of Social Work, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Makhan, Kangpokpi district.
District and Sessions Judge Senapati cum Chairperson of District Legal Services Authority Senapati A Nautuneshwari Devi, Director of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Regional Campus Manipur Professor Ramjeevan Singh Thakur and Vice Chancellor of Barkatullah University, Bhopal Prof Pramod Kumar Verma attended the event as dignitaries.
