12 injured in mishap

CCpur, March 19 2018:
Several passengers of a DI pick-up truck suffered varying degrees of injuries when they met with an accident while on their way to their jungle cultivation at Thangching hill range, about 20 kms from Tedim Road.
The pick-up truck with about 23 people on board, including two infants, turned turtle at about 9 am today as it encountered some technical glitches.
One Hethong of B Khonom who was among the few to escape unhurt said, the vehicle they were travelling bumped its back into the road-side wall as the driver tried to avoid falling on the hill slopes at the other end after the vehicle lost it pace and moved backward.
The truck then turned turtle throwing its entire load across the road.
About a dozen of the people who suffered injures have been shifted to District Hospital Churachandpur in two vehicles by the nearby villagers on learning about the mishap.
Six of them including a couple have been admitted at the hospital.
The other half were however discharged after receiving first aid.
Those admitted have been identified as Thangpao of Bijang Gangte and his wife Lamnei; Phalneikim wife of Letsanglen of Bijang Gangte; Hoikhonem wife of Jammang of B Khonom; Boisi wife of Jamlal of B Khonom; and a teenage girl, Lamneihoi.
