RIMS holds World Oral Health Day

The World Oral Health Day (WOHD) was observed by Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)today.
On this event, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Dental College organised a mass tooth brushing demonstration and awareness program at Government Malom Mega High School, Malom to promote good oral health practices.
Dr Sinam Subash, Assistant Professor, Dental College, RIMS gave a healthy talk on the importance of good oral hygiene.
He further mentioned that World Oral Health Day is celebrated every year on this day to benefit a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene to look after by everyone.
Dr Nandita Kshetrimayum, Assistant Professor, Dental College, RIMS emphasised the fact that if school children are taught the importance and value of good tooth brushing at an early age then it will really give positive impact on their dental health for the rest of their lives.
Such initiatives at larger scales would benefit the population as all children deserved to have healthy teeth and a happy smile, she said.
