Imphal, November 16 2011:
Observing that the proposed Supra-state-body as a final settlement between the government of India and NSCN (IM) has created confusion in the mind of the people, CPI, Manipur state council has asserted that whether it is the creation of Greater Nagaland or the proposed Supra-state-body, it is the two sides of the same coin.
In a statement, State Secretary of CPI, Manipur state council Dr M Nara pointed out that the state govts of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are not at all aware of the proposal and it seems that none of the three states concerned have been consulted by the central administration.
CPI would welcome solving of a long standing political problem in the true sense of not affecting the interest of other communities and territorial integrity of the NE States.
But there is a doubt that this kind of arrangement is non-transparent, dubious and it is nothing but appeasement policy of the central govt, Dr Nara contended.
