Imphal, November 16 2011:
The proscribed UNLF has refuted any connection whatsoever between the party and the reported gun fight at Iroilok, Andro in which one UG suspect was killed yesterday.
A press release issued by the outfit's senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba asserted that even though the people who abducted Wahengbam Bishorjit identified themselves as UNLF cadres, they have no relation with UNLF/MPA.
The UNLF/MPA would never indulge in such arbitrary abduction of civilians.
It further alleged that security forces have been deliberately grooming anti-social elements and giving them weapons to indulge in anti-social activities in the name of revolutionary groups with a sinister design to strain the relationship between revolutionary groups and the public.
It also appealed to the people to inform UNLF/MPA if they come across any activity which is not compatible with the liberation movement.
