Two shot, hurt at Sajik Tampak

Imphal, November 16 2011:
Two persons engaged as excavator operators for a work under the MGNREGS at Sajik Tampak were shot at and injured when gunmen who identified themselves as cadres of the UKLF opened fire at them.
According to a reliable source, the two were engaged for the work under the MGNREGS when the gunmen who identified themselves as UKLF cadres opened fire and injured them last night.
UKLF is incidentally under the SoO pact with the Centre and the State Government.
The two injured persons have been identified as Hijam Hemba (25) of Samurou Mayai Leikai and Sapam Abung (25) of Tera Khongsangbi.
Other than the two injured persons there are two others engaged in the road work under MGNREGS.
The two injured persons were fortunately able to trek the way to Chakpikarong and board a bus.
They have been admitted to Shija hospital today evening, said hospital sources.
They are out of danger.
