Health Minister stresses on role of parents in ensuring proper health of children

A felicitation programme for the Healthy Baby Show Competition 2017 was organised by Mission Director and staff of SHS, National Health Mission, Manipur, at IMA Hall, Lamphelpat today.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare, L Jayanta Kumar Singh, Additional Director, Health, Dr P Shyam Sunder and Director, Health and Family Welfare, Dr K Rajo Singh attended the felicitation programme as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the event, Health Minister L Jayanta Kumar said that a society can develop to its full potential only when the children are healthy and void of any deficiencies as well as physically and mentally fit.
He stressed on the role of parents in ensuring proper health of the children and also explained on the roles of the people in creating a healthy environment suitable for the growth of the children.
He said that if the parents fight everyday, then the gloomy atmosphere may create psychological trauma for the children.
It is critical to properly guide the children along the right path at an early age, Jayanta Kumar added.
He also assured that the Education Department and the Health Department will take up various initiatives to improve the society for the children so as to ensure a well developed society.
During the programe, Thokchom Amrita Devi d/o Th Premkumar Singh of Hierok Part II (Ngarouthel), Thoudam Lingjenthoibi s/o Th Johnson of Imphal East and Ayekpam Sanahal d/o Ayekpam Angamba Meetei of Talyel Khongbal won the first, second and third positions respectively in the 12 to 23 months children category.
Lonison Wahengbam s/o Wahengbam Lokel Singh of Uripok Ahanthem Leikai, Vivian Yendrembam s/o Y Bhumanda of Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai and Sinthoi Khundongbam d/o Kh Kennedy Khaba of Thoubal Wangkhem won the first, second and third positions respectively for the 24 to 36 months children category.
