Body of murdered Principal laid to rest, CSOs urge Govt to implement assurance

Finally, the mortal remains of MBC Higher Secondary School Principal was laid to rest today at Haijang cemetery with honour and respect from thousands of students, Kuki leaders, Church leaders, various CSO leaders and political leaders.
The Principal was found killed with multiple bullet injuries on November 25 morning, in the deep jungle of Tumuyon Khullen.
The body which was kept at RIMS mortuary was claimed by the family, Kuki Inpi and KSO yesterday after receiving a concrete assurance from the State Government to book the culprits involved in the killing.
Thousands of mourners from various parts of the State including school students, colleagues, Kuki leaders from KIM, KSO, TSA and various other CSO leaders, Church leaders including Manipur Baptist Convention, and many others paid their last respect to the deceased Principal with traditional shawls and flowers, at his residence before the funeral service at the cemetery.
Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman ADC Sadar Hills, many politicians and Government officials also joined the funeral service.
Paying his last tribute to the departed Principal, Ngamkhohao Haokip, administrator, Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom-Sapormeina, said that MBC Higher Secondary School, where he served as Principal will always observe November 25 as 'Teachers' Dignity Day' from next year to remember him and to promote the importance, respect and honour teachers deserve in the society.

Leader of MBC conferred the deceased Principal the title of 'Missionary Teacher' for his decency, manner, coolness, and for being a God fearing person.
Pastor Lalkhosei Chongloi performed the burial ceremony in the presence of thousands of mourners at Haijang cemetery.
Meanwhile, Chonghang Union (CHU) and Chonghang Youth Organization (CHYO) vehemently condemned the senseless and brutal murder of Helen Chongloi while conveying the deepest condolence over the incident.
A joint statement of CHU and CHYO signed by Henkhongam Hangshing, president CHU and Thangkhomang Chongloi, president CHYO expressed gratitude to the Kuki Inpi, KSO Sadar Hills, KSO-GHQ, KSO-Imphal and various other CSOs across the State for their tireless support and cooperation towards the family in such a tragic moment and also for their timely initiative in bringing the matters to an honorable settlement with the Government.
It also conveyed sincere gratitude to the Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen and the State Government for their initiatives in resolving the issue.
CHU and CHYO also appealed the State Government to be serious enough and translate their assurances at the earliest and redress the hurt sentiments of the people.
