Cleanliness drive cum lecture held at Tengnoupal

As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducteda cleanliness drive at Chongjang village, Tengnoupal district on November 26 .
During the drive, the villagers were briefed regarding the importance of cleanliness and waste management.
They were encouraged to reduce the use of polythene bags as it makes the environment, people and animals unhygenic and further urged to use toilets and adopt a clean an healthy lifestyle.
The 11 Assam Rifles also conducted a lecture on drug abuse for students as well as youths at Thangbung Minou village, Tengnoupal district today in which 32 locals (including 27 males and 5 females) attended.
The lecture was delivered by the Company Operating Base Commander of Thangbung Minou.
Special emphasis was laid on the importance of awareness on drug abuse in the society.
Thangbung Minou is a border village and easy availability of various kinds of drugs, through porous borders, has caused disturbances in the society.
Individuals who attended the lecture shared their stories about their acquaintances who have been a victim of drug abuse and how non cooperation from family members aggravated the situation.
The lecture was conducted by taking a unanimous pledge to fight against the menace of drug abuse and to assist in thrashing the drug supply lines.
