Kakching, March 19 2018:
As part of its "Campaign for total education", AMSU Kakching District Committee visited Phoubakchao Laipham Upper Primary School in Sekmaijin Khunou to take stock of the present condition of the school.
The members of the union found that the school, which was established in 1954, has not received any developmental project from the State Government till date.
Speaking to media persons at AMSU Kakching district office, president of AMSU Kakching district committee, Thingujam Kiran Meitei, asserted that the authorities concerned have failed to provide all requisite facilities under SSA like uniform, books, etc.
He further stated that the authorities concerned have even failed to implement mid-day meal at the school apart from neglecting numerous needs of the students.
The school has a total strength of 15 students (from class I to V) which is handled by only two teachers.
One of the teacher has left the school for BEd training and presently the students are getting education from only the remaining teacher, he said.
The union has urged the State Government to look into the insufficiencies of the school and the negligence suffered by the students and further urged the authority concerned to provide the required facilities at the earliest.
He said that AMSU will keep a strict vigil over all Government and private institutions located under AMSU Kakching district committee and the union would work in proper execution of its "Campaign for total education" in the area.
