Covid vaccination, political awareness prog held

Imphal, July 07 2021: A team of BJP Medical Cell led by its convenor Dr Ksh Kala Singh and former minister Dr Khashim Ruivah conducted mass vaccination and political awareness programmes in western villages of Ukhrul district including Ringui, Phadang, Somdal, Maichon and other parts of Sagolmang areas on Wednesday.

A release by BJP medical cell said that an interaction programme was held during with village authorities, church leaders, members of women and youth organisation.

Dr Khashim said the programme on Covid-19 mass vaccination is in tune with the party's priority to combat and overcome the deadly virus, which has affected millions of lives in the state and across the country and world.

He also stated that the political awareness is being undertaken to make the people informed of the ongoing efforts of the BJP government's man-agement towards containment of the deadly virus and how it's taking all possible means to assist the citizens of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kala urged the people to get vaccinated saying it is the only available option to contain the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus.

"The third wave, which will be more severe and expected to cause high mortality among the unvaccinated groups, is hitting the country anytime from now and the best possible way to counter the virus is to get vaccinated," he stated.

He also urged for cooperation towards government's vaccination drive and not to fall for unnecessary and fake information being spread on the social media platform regarding Covid-19 vaccines.

The team during their visit distributed Covid-19 related kits and rice to certain villages.

The programme on Covid-19 mass vaccination and political awareness is being sponsored by BJP Medical Cell.
