Imphal, December 01 2013 :
Drawing attention to the long neglected problem plaguing the District Hospital Tamenglong, the Trained Nurses' Association, Tamenglong (TNAT) has submitted a memorandum to the Minister of Family and Welfare, Government of India on November 20 .
In the memorandum, the TNAT stated that the District Hospital Tamenglong being the only referral hospital in the entire district, posting of adequate number of nurse is required for its smooth functioning and that at present, it has been functioning only for name sake due to the frequent transfer of staffs especially nurses without sending
their replacement.
It also fervently appealed to the concerned Minister to look into the matter and ensure that adequate number of nurses is posted by December 1, 2013 in view of the increasing number of sick people coming to get treatment in the hospital.
''With this available strength, it is almost getting impossible to run the hospital to its desired capacity, and we may be compelled to take up our own course of action if our grievances are not redressed at the earliest,'' the memorandum cautioned.
