Ngamthang pledges to help the poor

"Give me power to help the poor and needy people is my humble prayer to God," said IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip adding "I am the Minister for the poor and needy not for wealthy people" .
The Minister was speaking at the first Charity Programme in aid of orphanage children of Sadar Hills organised by Agape Children Home, Kangpokpi at CC Hall today.
Reminding that those who help the poor and the needy as well as orphans and religious leaders are blessed ones for they are doing the will of God, he said it is the blessing of God that "I am always inducted as a Cabinet Minister every time I am elected as an MLA to help and support the poor and needy people" .
While encouraging the orphanage children the Minister lamented that during his childhood days there was no orphanage home to stay as his parents passed away when he was a little.
"If I can be a Minister you (the orphanage children) can also become one respectable and responsible person in future", exhorted the Minister.
Conveying Christmas wish to all the orphanage children the Minister also donated Rs 20,000 to the Agape Children Home as a Christmas gift and appealed to everyone for ensuring a peaceful celebration of Christmas.
Ngamthang also visited Agape Children Home at Kangpokpi Ward No 11 where he met the children and assured to provide financial assistance for its building construction.
A part from functionaries of various civil organizations, Church leaders, social workers and general public, Rev K Hangshing, Pastor TBA Kanggui, H Joseph, Father of Agape Children Home and Chonkam Kipgen, Chairman Kanggui Town Committee also attended the programme.
Cultural dance and choreography by the orphanage children and various cultural troupes marked the occasion.
Gospel artistes of Kangpokpi as well as guest artistes such as Jenny, Nemsemhoi, Wycliff Lunneo and Boijang enthralled the congregate.
the second Charity Programme-Charity Show will be organised at Keithelmanbi village along NH-2 on December 7 .
