Imphal, August 02 2010:
The Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM) has called a 48-hour long Chakka bandh along National Highway-53 with effect from 6 am of August 5 demanding complete withdrawal of PWD from the said National Highway, reports our Jiribam correspondent.
The student body has also warned that the State Government shall be responsible for any untoward incident that may occur during the bandh.
The student body asserted that handing over the responsibility of National Highway 53 to the PWD from the BRO reeks of sinister design of the SPF Government to rob public money.
Furthermore, ZSUM has warned of intense agitations if the PWD is not withdrawn from National Highway-53 at the earliest possible.
