Imphal, August 01 2013:
The Royal Palace (Sana Konung) of Manipur, which is a living institution in itself, cannot be turned into a museum, as being attempted and envisaged by the State Government, All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA) has observed.
As a part of the continuing effort to safeguard Sana Konung, a meeting was held today at Chongabon, Sana Konung where volunteers of AMADA and Hodam Leirak Meira Paibi participated.
Taking part in the meeting, M Padamini, President of AMADA, stated that the Sana Konung is not only an important and historical place of the present generation but also for the future generations to come.
So, the move of the State Government to take over such an important place is not acceptable at all.
In no way, the Sana Konung can be turned into a museum.
AMADA will cooperate in all the agitations to be launched in this regard.
