Imphal, August 01 2013:
Plant and Live Society, Tamenglong organised a national environment campaign at Bwanruangh (Taudaijang) village, Nungba with the theme Biodiversity Conservation.
Students and farmers of the area took part in the awareness campaign while prizes were also presented to students who participated in spot painting competition during the occasion.
A farmer, Zacham Rongmei was also given nurseries of Perka (Yongchak) for plantation, according to a statement.
Resource person Wilson Gangmei cautioned the people to remain alert from environmental destruction which is likely to be caused by the proposed 1500 MW Tipaimukh Dam project.
