Foundation Day celebration

The third foundation day celebration of Minority Development Forum, Manipur was held at Cambridge Higher Secondary School today.
Speaking at the occasion, Manipuri Muslim Women's Organisation leader Sitara Begum urged Manipuri Muslims to mention their respective surnames in writing their names.
In his speech, Associate Professor of DM College of Arts, Dr Sayeed Ahmad said that monthly income of half of the Muslim population of the State is below Rs 3000 .
He added that only 3 per cent of the Muslim population earn Rs 10,000 per month.
Saying that the Government started taking various welfare schemes for minority Muslims after 2006, Dr Sayeed Ahmad said that people are still facing inconvenience in getting these benefits as they do not know how to apply for it.
Speaking at the occasion, Editors' Guild president A Mobi mentioned about the inconvenience being faced by Muslim students and western countries' outkook towrads Muslims.
