UNC, NWU condemn Ukhrul blast

The United Naga Council (UNC) while terming the Ukhrul bomb blast inci dent that occurred on January 25, 2023 as "barbaric and inhuman act of terrorism ', said it will not remain a "silent spectator" to such inhumane activities.
It strongly condemned the incident where four civilians were injured and said every citizen should also condemn such an act in the strongest terms to stop culture of violence.
"Whoever is accountable for the act should own responsibility as to why innocent populace was targeted," said the Naga body.
The UNC then urged the "competent authority" to book the perpetrators at the earliest and the victims be brought to justice.
It also appealed to all to shun violence of any form in the future so that peace may prevail in the land.
Naga Women's Union (NWU) also decried in the strongest term the bomb blast that took place in Ukhrul on January 25 and termed it as an inhumane act of terrorism.
In a statement, NWU said that 'the sadist' attempted to claim innocent lives and it triggered the whole populace to come out and condemn the act.
All right thinking people must shout out now to raise their voice against such violence.
"It was terrorism at its worst, such cowardly act was never witnessed in our culture through thick and thin for ages.
This inhuman foreign tradition could never bring anything to your call rather than slaying yourself," the statement said.
NWU then urged the authority to look into the matter and book the perpetrators.
It also stated that people have lost their endurance to wait for peace and justice, and they can no longer live with such violence.
