Assam Rifles units celebrate 74th Republic Day

Imphal, January 27 2023:
Keithelmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles on Thursday organised 74th Republic Day celebrations at Keithelmanbi ground with much gusto and fervour.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event began with wreath laying ceremony by the commandant 16 AR at the Quarter Guard to honour and remember the fallen heroes.
Wreath laying ceremony was preceded by flag hoisting, singing of national anthem, speech by commandant and distribution of sweets to the troops.
Meanwhile, Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector and Tengnoupal Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) actively participated in 74th Republic Day celebration at Bakshi ground, Ukhrul and Tengnoupal Parade Ground respectively.
As part of the celebrations, thp Rattalions disnlaved Pipe Band enthralling performance.
Tengnoupal Battalion also organised a' Know Your Army' lecture and distributed Beverages provided by Smile Foun dation to the Students of St Peter's School, Tengnoupal and local children.
Phundrei Battalion also cel ebrated 74th Republic day with full zeal and enthusiasm.
National flag hoisting was conducted to mark the occa sion.
At Battalion war memorial a wreath laying ceremony was conducted to honour sol diers and brave-hearts who displayed exemplary courage and bravery while fighting the insurgents and made supreme sacrifice.
On the other hand, Sa-jik Tampak Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a flag hosting ceremony at a Primary School in Tweiilon village, Chakpikarong sub-division and assisted the local people to construct a foot bridge over Manipur River near Songkhom village to celebrate 74th Republic Day.
Loktak Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) also celebrated 74th Republic Day 2023 at Kangvai and its various areas of deployment (seven locations) of Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts.
During the celebration wreath laying ceremony was carried out at Battalion Headquarters and homage was paid to the brave-hearts by commandant of Loktak Battalion.
National flag hoisting was carried out at Battalion Headquarters and at all Com- pany Operation Bases by commandant and Coy commanders respectively.
Sehlon Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) too celebrated 74th Republic day at Sehlon and various border villages and distributed refreshments to students and children.
Various activities to include flag hoisting, march past, streaming of the RD parade, painting competition and games for children were organised at various COBs.
On the other hand, Churachandpur Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated 74th Republic Day by conducting flag hoisting at all the COBs and by organising motivational lecture for locals of Hengkot and Aina villages to join Armed Forces.
