Imphal, October 20 2021:
CPI state secretary L Sotinkumar has alleged that BJP government has converted election as profitable business and funds released by BJP government are pocketed by handful of wealthy people who earn huge money through illegal business.
L Sotinkumar stated this during a branch conference of CPI held at Phaknung Makha Leikai under Khurai assembly constituency on Tuesday evening.
Addressing the gathering, L Sotinkumar said that the BJP government has not only hiked prices of goods including essential commodities like never before but is also trying to convert the state assembly into a fiefdom for a few millionaires by indulging in 'Gundaraj'.
Left parties of the state and democratic parties will form a non-BJP government after the 2022 election, he claimed.
Sotinkumar further said that vanishing paddy fields of Phaknung-Kangla and Moirangkampu in Khurai AC will be transformed into green fields throughout the year by developing small water bodies from numerous Chingkhei hill gorges.
He also appealed to voters not to be swayed by muscle and money power during election.
The conference later resolved to have at least 50 members for CPI Phaknung branch and a committee comprising 15 functionaries was also formed led by N Ibomcha as secretary and Wahengbam Robindro as assistant secretary.
