Observers take stock of preparedness in KPI, Ccpur

Kangpokpi, February 09 2022:
General observer Probhu-dutta David Pradhan, Expenditure observer Manish Kumar Chavda (C&CE) and Police observer Sarat Kaviraj on Wednesday had a meeting with district election officer (DEO), Kangpokpi Kengoo Zuringla and entire election team of the district at the Conference Hall of the DC Complex, here.
The observers reviewed the district's poll preparedness ahead of the first phase voting to the 12th Manipur Legislative Election, 2022 scheduled to be held on February 27.During the meeting, the observers discussed about the preparations taken up by DEO and the team to conduct the forthcoming election in a free, fair, accessible, inclusive and inducement-free manner in the district.
They also stressed on the need to ensure adequate supply of vehicles for officers on election duty and for all teams like the Video Surveillance, Flying Squads, among others so that there will be no hindrances in reaching even the remotest part of the district.
The observers also briefed the gathering on the role of the micro observers and importance of usage of webcasting/videography, A meeting will be held again on Thursday regarding poll preparations.
The District Election team highlighted the overall preparations undertaken in the district, including transportation of EVMs, polling personnel, use of VVPATs and training for polling personnel, among others.
The meeting was also attended by returning officers of Saikul (ST) AC Bungba Maibam Khuman, Kangpokpi AC Laishram Manikanta, Saitu (ST) AC Sapam Bishwojit Singh, district nodal officer (Expenditure Management) Rebek Lalparvul, SDCs, CMO, additional SP, DTO and nodal officer of MCMC T Ranita among others.
Meanwhile, scrutiny was also held for the candidates who filed their nominations for the election and there was no cancellation.
It may be mentioned that altogether 18 candidates - six from the Saitu, eight from Saikul and four from Kangpokpi ACs will be contesting in the elections from Kangpokpi district.
CCPUR: Observers appointed for Churachandpur district held review meeting with District Nodal Officers at DCs conference hall here on Wednesday.
District Election Officer/DC Pawan Yadav gave a presentation on the overall preparedness of the district while SP Shivanand Surve briefed the observers about the security measures which are in place for the ensuing Assembly elections.
The DEO also briefed about Covid-19 vaccination status.
It may be noted that Rahul Dwivedi and Siladitya Basuray are General Observers while Mithun Nandkumar Shete and Vijay Kumar R Mangla are the Expenditure Observers for the district.
Police Observer for all the six ACs is Rahul Dev Singh.
Prior to the meeting, Special Observers - Pravir Krishna, Arun Kumar and Rajesh Tuteja also held a meeting with the DNOs.
A dedicated Observers' Control Room has been opened at R-204, A-2 Building, Mini Secretariat Quarters, Tuibong, Churachandpur.
The observers, while noting the preparations taken up so far in the district, urged all concerned to leave nothing to chances so as to ensure a free and fair election.
