Imphal, November 29 2009:
Sainik School, Imphal scripted another history when 27 cadets from the school passed the examination for entry to 124 course at National Defence Academy (NDA) conducted by the UPSC on August 30 last.
This is the highest number of cadets who cleared the examinations in the school's history, a PIB (DW) release stated.
Last year, the school had sent seven cadets to NDA which was also another record number for single entry.
The cadets will now face interview tests at Service Selection Boards and rigorous medical examination.
The school has planned orientation programme for these cadets wherein serving defence officers from SSBs will guide them on the subject, the statement added.
As a corollary to this, Brig RS Grewal, Deputy GOC, 57 Mountain Division, who is also a trained GTO, addressed the cadets on November 27 during his visit to the school.
Appreciating the efforts made by the school, he assured the Principal of full support from 57 Mountain Division to the school in all respects, it stated.
