Cabinet resolves to expand CMHT scope

The State Cabinet has decided to bring more families within the ambit of CMHT including NFSA card holders whose names have been listed in the Socio-Economic Caste Census.
Briefing media persons after a Cabinet meeting held today with Chief Minister N Biren in the chair, Water Resources Minister Letpao Haokip who is also a spokesman of the Government said that the CMHT has been providing immense benefits to a number of poor people in the health sector and some other categories of people would be covered by the scheme soon.
The Cabinet meeting today decided to bring registered street vendors, women vendors of Panthoibi and Phouoibi Ima markets of Khwairamband Keithel, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and staff of Autonomous District Councils under the ambit of CMHT.
Considering the support provided by Manipur Start-Up scheme to a number of talented youth, the State Cabinet agreed to extend the same scheme by six months, Letpao said.
As such, the scheme would remain operational till June next year, he continued.
Informing that the Civil Secretariat complex being constructed at Chigmeirong is nearing completion, the Government spokesman said that the Government has been working hard to get the new Civil Secretariat inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he visits the State in January next year.
In order to complete the incomplete portions of the Civil Secretariat, the State Cabinet decided to take Rs 150 crore from MAHUD.
Construction of different types of structures on paddy fields too figured in the Cabinet meeting.
Paddy fields on which dwelling houses were built before 2014 would be recognised as homestead land as agreed at the Cabinet meeting, Letpao said.
The State Cabinet also gave its consent to re-organisation of revenue villages 19-Koirengei, 20-Nillakuthi and 24-Kabo Leikai which are under Heingang Revenue Circle, Letpao added.
