It is reported that family members of N Rohit and the JAC concerned agreed to claim the body after Chief Minister N Biren Singh reportedly assured to arrest all assailants within two days.
Representatives of JAC met the Chief Minister at the latter's office today.
After meeting with the Chief Minister, advisor of the JAC Moirangthem Rajmani said that they will continue to stage democratic modes of agitation without causing much inconvenience to the people unless all perpetrators are booked as assured.
If the Chief Minister fails to deliver his assurance then the JAC would sit with CSOs, student bodies and people of Heirok before taking any concrete resolutions.
He, however, is hopeful that the Chief Minister will book the armed miscreants who are responsible for killing N Rohit and seriously injuring his father.
The JAC convenor thanked N Biren Singh for visiting the injured man and extending moral support.
Brother of the deceased student, N Roshan alleged that the man who shot at his brother and father is Thokchom Putro and he is a brother of sitting MLA of Heirok AC MLA Thokchom Radheshyam.
Roshan said that he could easily identify Putro when he barged into the house along with around 15 other people.
Meanwhile, security measures have been beefed up in the whole of Heirok Assembly Constituency to avert any form of violence.
According to reliable sources, a company of BSF, Thoubal commando, Thoubal district police and additional personnel of 5th and 8th IRB are being deployed in the Constituency and they are regularly patrolling the sensitive and hypersensitive areas round the clock.
The sources also stated that Thoubal police registered an FIR yesterday itself based on the complaint lodged by the family members of N Rohit.
As pre-poll violences have been reported from Heirok occasionally, a large number of police and BSF have already been deployed there since October this year.
Taking serious note of the tense situation prevailing at Heirok, Thoubal district, Thoubal District Magistrate A Subhash Singh has imposed curfew under Section 144 CrPC of 1973 in the entire Heirok areas with effect from 5 pm today.
The District Magistrate issued an order to this effect today.

Persons who want to take out procession for marriage, funeral and religious purposes etc within Heirok areas should apply to the Thoubal District Magistrate or the Superintendent of Police, Thoubal for permission and they should not take out any procession until the permission is obtained, it added.
