Nishikant said that he and Team Nishikant strongly condemned indulgence in any form of violence in election matters.
He also appealed to all concerned to work for free and fair election in the true spirit of democracy.
All the people (voters) should be allowed to vote for the candidate of their own choice in accordance to their conscience, said Nishikant.
He asserted that any attempt to win elections by influencing and intimidating voters through money power and muscle power contradicts the very foundation of democracy.
All the individuals who are contesting the election would become lawmakers, not law-breakers, if they are elected, Nishikant said.
He also expressed strong disapproval of any kind of violence and other unlawful activities in the election process.
Nishikant said that they have already lodged a complaint regarding the incident at Imphal police station and they are in possession of a video footage about the incident.
