Unvaccinated folks similar to leaving house sans locks: Gaikhangam

Noney, July 21 2021:
Former Deputy CM cum MLA of Nungba AC Gaikhangam has categorically stated that unvaccinated people are akin to houses that have no lock, awaiting the onslaught of the COVID-19, which is largely driven by Delta variant in the second wave.
He made the statement while attending an intensified mass vaccination drive cum advocacy programme at Longmai (Thangal) village, today.
On the occasion, the MLA added that the only option available today to prevent Covid infection is through vaccination.
"Though COVID-19 is invisible to naked eyes, it can affects vital organs once inside human body,'' he said and urged the people not to believe in any rumours regarding the vaccine efficacy as it has already been approved by experts and drug regulators .

He also appealed to the public to observe the SOPs for COVID-19 and to get vaccinated at the earliest.
He also assured that similar programmes will be held at other segments of Noney district.
Dr Jaoziansing Kamei MO I/C, PHC Noney said that 33.42% of the eligible population of Noney district have been vaccinated so far and the plan is to cover 70-80% of the population by month end.
Dr Pinky Sarangthem, WHO RRT ( Consultant) for Noney, Tamenglong, Chandel & Tengnoupal Districts said that the only means at hand to prevent the third wave of the pandemic is vaccination.
Around 100 persons from Thangal and surrounding villages were vaccinated, today.
