COVID-19: Manipur sees highest ever spurt with 1,327 cases
positivity rate at 19.4 % amid curfew, 15 deaths reported

Coronavirus cases in the State hit a record daily high with 1,327 new infections reported in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 19.4 percent, taking the active caseload to 10,347 (including 62 central security personnel) .
Altogether 6,852 samples were tested in the said period.
This is the 6th time in the last 8 days that the State is witnessing positive cases in four digits, with the second highest being 1,171 reported on July 17 .
Among the results which returned positive, 1 is from CAPF, while 664 from the general population are female.
The positive persons were tested at RIMS (37); JNIMS (115); District Hospitals (936) and other testing centres (239), according to a statement of COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The positive cases from general population are from Imphal East (351); Imphal West (400); Thoubal (124); Bishnupur (77); Kakching (106); Ukhrul (9); Churachandpur (94); Chandel (38); Senapati (10); Tamenglong (35); Tengnoupal (2); Jiribam (17); Noney (27); Pherzawl (2); Kamjong (12) and Kangpokpi (22) .
The number of Covid deaths reported in the last 24 hours, on the other hand, is 15 - Imphal West (3); Imphal West (2); Thoubal (2); Bishnupur (6); Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (1).According to the Covid Control Room, only 1 of the 15 deaths was vaccinated (1st) while 7 had co-morbidity.
This again is a clear indication of non-vaccinated people susceptible to the disease.
In the same period (the last 24 hours), 1032 person were discharged.
They are from Home Isolation (407); RIMS (18); JNIMS (16); CCCs (241) and CHICs (350) .
With 76, 279 people recovered from the disease so far from among the total cases of 88, 050, the recovery rate now stands at 86.63 %.
A total of 1676 D-type and 406 B-type oxygen cylinders were also made available to different health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
